Dancers from ALL studios are welcome to pose, leap and dance in colored powder at Dance Empire in Miami. However, registration will be exclusively for students of Dance Empire from now until October 1st when registration will open to dancers from other studios (so register now to get your first choice of appointment).
Using multiple high speed flash units, Robert Sullivan Photography will freeze the action of you leaping and posing while assistants toss colored powder over and around you. The images will immediately be displayed on a large screen television so that the dancers can see their poses and leaps right away. An instructor will be present to help the students critique and improve their poses for subsequent shots.
We will have tons of powder, but this elaborate photography set is only the beginning of the production. After you choose your images, they will be artistically enhanced by the staff of Robert Sullivan Photography to include adding even more powder to them in post production and prior to printing.
The images will be available for viewing on our website within a day or two of the end of the photo shoot. Participants will be provided a coupon code for 20% off images purchased within the first week after the photo shoot and prints will normally be shipped within a day or two of ordering!

We strongly suggest coordinating with your friends to schedule and share the same hour together! Rather than scheduling one dancer at a time, this type of scheduling that we have long employed for all of our Artistic Days series of photo shoots provides for several advantages:
When registering, please provide your first 3 choices for your preferred hour in the spaces provided when prompted. Slots will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis and the schedule will be updated as spaces are filled. Confirmation of assigned hour will be emailed to you when the schedule is finalized.

FUN!!! You will take turns on the set with no more than three other dancers during your hour. Those who are prepared and know how they want to pose can expect around 20 (but often over 40) images to be made during their session. While others are taking their turn on the set, you can change outfits for your next turn. You will toss powder into the air right before your pose or as you are striking your pose and/or leaping. Others may also throw powder around or at you if you would like. "Hair flips" with powder in your hair results in dramatic arcs of colorful powder flying outwards as you flip your hair for the photo. We will all get creative and have fun!
You can change as many times as you wish while taking turns posing during your hour long appointment. The set will be based on a black background, so bright colors will stand out well. However, due to the edgy type of lighting that we have designed for this type of photo shoot, even black clothing will stand out on the black background. The powder usually washes out with ease but you might want to avoid wearing light colored clothing that you won't want to stain.
As seen in some of our sample images, participants will often apply body paint to themselves to provide even more color with cool results. We will have multiple colors of body/face paint available to self-apply. If you want to apply body paint, please arrive early for your appointment.
The powder that we use is made with high quality cornstarch, food dyes and baking soda. All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C approved. It is is gluten free and does not contain dairy, nuts, wheat, soy or other common allergens. But, you won't catch us eating it ;)
